What kind of site is this?!

Congratulations! You’ve stumbled upon the world’s first website run by bugs! Don’t worry, we’re not computer bugs; we’re the bugs that live in your garden, in trees, under rocks, and sometimes even your garage. A human friend of ours let us know that most people don’t really like bugs very much. We were sad to hear that, because we like you and would rather be friends than enemies!

We’ve been helping humans survive and enjoy life for a very long time, and we would like to keep doing that, but we need your help! We know that humans don’t mean to hurt us, but sometimes they destroy our homes by mowing their lawns and cutting down trees, and even use dangerous chemicals to keep us out of their houses (we’re sorry, we try to stay outside, but sometimes we just get confused!).

We want to show the world that we’re actually pretty cool once you get to know us. Will you be our friend and help us spread the bug love?

About the Human

This is our human friend, Gaby. She’s a graduate student in Miami University’s Advanced Inquiry Program, Project Dragonfly (we like that name). She’s been our friend since she was a little kid, and now that she’s grown up and learning about wildlife conservation, she asked us if we’d help her get the word out about bug conservation. Of course, we were excited to help! She said that her goal is to provide a resource for people of all ages and backgrounds to learn about why bugs are so important to the health of our Earth, and how they can help save us. We’ve already reviewed her work, and we think she’s onto something! She uses real scientific studies in her research, but reports her findings in a way that everyone can understand.

If you want to learn more about her or talk to her about her work, you can visit the Contact page to get in touch.
